2012 SBCA NATIONAL - "Tikki Time"

That bright light you see from the direction of British Columbia is likely from the smile on Tikki Smith's face. Her biggest day yet in the breed came from watching co-owner Marty Glover show her wonderful smooth boy, Ch Lasquite's Denver V Lucas to BEST OF BREED at the 2012 SBCA National in Utah under judge Donna Buxton. Normally such a win would be enough for any breeder but not for Tikki because she also took BEST OF WINNERS with her outstanding rough boy, Lasquite's Lorenzo V Orlando!

It definitely was "Tikki Time" at this year's show! (read more)

The competition was very keen this year with a number of outstanding dogs so Tikki can take great pride in her boys. Both of them are the "real deal" -beautiful, correct dogs with powerful movement.

Breeders will take note of the fact that Lorenzo's father, Orlando, was also a National Best of Winners, and that his sister, Lohlah, took a National Winners Bitch in 2010. That kind of consistent quality does not happen by accident but from building a line generation after generation.

Tikki was only sixteen when she got her first Saint from us and she has done an outstanding job of breeding since. We note happily that Denver goes back to our Iceman three times and that Lorenzo's mother was Benbaron's Uppercut Of Eddie. We take great comfort in knowing that the breed is now in the hands of accomplished young breeders like Tikki.

Both Denver and Lorenzo have puppies on the ground and no doubt we will be seeing some of those at future Nationals.
