In 1988 the St Bernard Club Of America celebrated the 100th Anniversary of its founding. It is one of the oldest breed clubs in the country. The National that year was held in Denver. Judge Terry Temple awarded Yondo Select and Best Stud Dog. He is handled here by the teenaged Robin Beninger. The smooth pup was Slaton's Jondo Von Yondo who went on to become a BIS dog in Japan. The rough bitch handled by Mike Brophy was Ch Echo's Kory Von Yondo-B who was top bitch in the country at that time. (Carrol Thom added the "B" to the names to avoid confusion with her pups from her breedings with Sanctuary Woods Yondo U Ole.)

The three Select awards that Yondo gathered have not been exceeded since.

Yondo was a great specialty winner and a great producer - a breeder's dream.
