In 1987, the mud of St Louis was replaced by the freezing cold of New Jersey. By chance, Stan Zeilinski was the judge and he too found it hard to resist Yondo's charms. By this time, Yondo was a mature male at 200 pounds but he still liked to put the pedal to the metal when he went around the ring. For just the second time in history, a dog had won the Best Of Breed twice in a row. (Gerd v d Lueg Edleweiss had done it in 1951.) Yondo also collected his second Select Award.

Every breeder dreams of having a dog win the National once in a lifetime. To win it twice was a great honor and a tremendous thrill.
